URGENT! Rooms - In Federated or in Architectural model?

Hi everyone!

I'm working in a project with three separated models (architectural, engineering, structure) and one Federated model. I don't know where is the best option: create the rooms in the Federated model or in the Architectural model?

Which is the best option in your opinion? Any ups and downs?

I do create Rooms in Architectural Model because this will help me to extract a lot of information ( from schedules) about the model , as lists of quantities , total usable Areas , etc.

Anyway in MEP , the engineer will turn Room into Zone and Spaces  in order to make his/hers specific calculations...

Architectural model.  This is the logical place for the rooms as they are part of the architectural design.  The MEP engineer can use spaces in their model if they require this.

Thanks for your fast reply, but in my office there are people who say that the engineers can link the federated model to the engineering model and they can see the rooms. Is it true?  I think that will be more problems if the rooms are not in the architectural model. Thanks

Yous should be able to see the rooms from any model if you need to, depending on how the views are set up.

I agree. So the two options are possible and don´t have any issue. I thoguht that there is some big problem if the rooms are not in the architectural model. Thanks

As I understood from you replay ,your MEP engineers  need the Rooms to be in Architectural plans delivered to them - it looks normal to me....Anyway the Revit Linked File can be customize from VGA , what to show from Revit Link > Display Settings ( by Host View, by Linked View and Custom )
