Urgent!! Revit File Error - Could not be uploaded

I need urgent help with a Revit file that could not be rendered. I tried a lot of solution I found in various topics but none of these worked. The problem seems to be in one certain file only since I tried rendering a different and that worked fine. I also tried different accounts and the problem still exist. Could you please help me find a solution to this??? I have a submission in a few days and I need it as soon as possible.

Are you getting the upload error when uploading to render in the cloud?

No. I was getting the error while revit was trying to upload it on cloud. Fortunately I found the solution. The problem was actually in some tree elements I had in the project. I also managed to send file for rendering when I cleared the cache and cookies from google chrome. That solved the issue. Thank you for your reply

Although yesterday I managed to render once after I deleted some elements and cleared cache folder, today I repeatedly get the same issue that 'the file could not be uploaded'. Its so frustrating cz I can not even work with that file. I really dont know what I need to do. I ve done almost everything. I tested a simple file which was rendered well but when I returned to my project did not work. I even removed links or other elements within the project to see whether there is some problem with that but it didnt work again. 

I will really appreciate any help. If I can upload the file to check if there is any issue with the size or anything, I will.

currently I can not even render a sample revit project which obviously has no issues or errors. Actually the only thing I can render is just simple walls or really simple things. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Hi,

 

Thank you for taking your time to post this on the forum, 

 

I would be interested in which version of Revit you are running and as well please check the build (Update Version) you have installed - I would make sure that all the basics are there and then troubleshoot from there. So I'm right in understanding it's an issue you have with every project? Have you noticed any relation to the file sizes or is it occurring in small test file as well?

First of all the issue seems to be related with the specific project but there are also times that I cannot even produce render from a sample project of revit. I use the 2017 version with the latest update on it. It also seems that the problem is not occurring in small size files. So I suppose that the issue is with bigger files. What do you think about it?

hi @Anonymous,

 

Have you tried auditing your file when opening it? (just tick the audit checkbox in the open.... dialog)

Have you purged you files, / any undesired item, etc?

Then Have you tried unloading linked files, etc to check if they might cause the trouble (if it is the case then you can unload them one after the other and identify the problematic one). Big number of huge dwg files can have a negative impact for example.

 

While trying that way to identify what goes wrong, do restart Revit and/or the computer from time to time as memory-related or process-related bugs might leave a trace on your computer. I would personnaly restart the compruter from time to time during all of these manipulations, just to make sure you start on the right track each time you change something...

@Anonymous Could you zip up the model and post it to your A360 Drive and share the link?

The reason for zipping it then posting to A360 is twofold...
1) A360 won't have to process the Revit model for viewing so the link will be instantaneous
2) if there is corruption in the model, sometimes A360 won't process it at all and therefore won't allow you to download it.

 

If you're not comfortable posting it here, we could do this offline.

@Anonymous Do you have the latest updates for 2017 installed? You can find any available updates on your Autodesk Account page. The latest version is 2017.2.

I have the update for revit installed yes. But i dont have all of the available like the worksharing monitoring etc. Do you think i need to download them?

No, you don't need any of the add-ins for rendering.

 

I've been able to render a few views without any issues so it sort of makes me think you don't have a required site whitelisted. Send this link to your IT department and make sure they aren't blocking any of the sites in this AKN article.

Is the error message happening at home or at uni?

 

If it's happening at home, you can follow the instructions in the link and allow the sites yourself.

If it's happening at uni.... you may be out of luck unless you can relay the link to your professor and have him/her relay the info to the IT department to look at.

I tried it but there is a few day now that i have some issues with the upload of my internet connection cz it seems that when i try to upload something the connection has a lot of issues. maybe that is the issue.
