I split a wall vertically (created stacked wall)

What is the trick to unjoin the two walls?

You should be able to right click on the height adjustment arrow and unjoin just like you can in plan.

One way is to select one wall, cut and paste aligned to same place.

Sometimes, I think there are just a bunch of Joe Bidens that have jobs.

No.  Doors and windows and anything hosted in the cut wall will still be exactly where they were, hosted by the newly pasted wall.  You don't even need to select them, just select the wall to copy paste.

Another way is Reveal Constraints on the elevation, delete the purple dotted constraint lines, then the walls will be disconnected.
