Hi
Can anyone tell me how I can unjoin these walls? I want the small line to stop there where I put the blue arrow. I tried by using the trim/extend tool, but the two walls always merge.
Thanks
Thomas

Hi @Anonymous,
One way of doing it is to use the "Split with Gap" Tool. The images below indicates how you can achieve this.
THIS ARTICLE is also a way in which you can control wall joins in Revit.
I hope this helps! ![]()

Hi @Anonymous,
Or just select your wall, and right-click on the join handle > disallow join!
If you want the junction to be clean though, after you have unjoined, just join the geometries a different way (Modify > Geometry > join) I know, they are both called the same, but the result is very different!
Just when you join geometry, pick the right wall first (the thicker one if I remember well!)

Sorry - last point -
If you want a line to appear, you will ned two different materials for the two walls.. at least as material IDs
That's all folks!

Hi
The 'split with gap' tool was exactly what I needed. A bit inconvenient that the 'allow join- symbol' only appears when u use the 'split with gap tool though. Or am I still missing something?
Thanks for the help!
Well, it will appear as soon as the join is disallowed...
So it will appear if you right-click at the extremity handle of the wall and select "disallow join"!

Hi @Anonymous,
I'm glad that the "Split with Gap" tool helped you, it is quite useful in various scenarios.
Her is another way of doing things:
I used the "Allow Join" option and made sure that the smaller wall "Butts" against the larger wall, this will result in a separation line.
Kindly accept the post/s which help you as a solution to allow future users with the same query, to resolve their issue quickly.
