Hello,
My revit file is too heavy, 165Mo approximatively.
I found that the size of the .rws located in the backup folder is the same as the revit projet file.
So I tried several things as listed below :
- Deleted everything
- Unlinked everything
- Purged everything
- Deleting all sheets, unused views
But it remains heavy...
I know that the person who was working on this project used a pointcloud, an imported CAD file and rasters images.
I think the problem is with the rws file who seems embedded to the revit file.
I tried every basic solutions I found on internet or this forum before asking.
Is anyone already had this issue ? Do you have some advices ?
Thanks in advance.

165Mb (or Mo) isn' that large to be honest. We've got projects up to 1 Gb.
Have you tried Save As instead of Save ? This usually shrinks the size a few Mbs.
Open the project using the Audit tool and next Save As.
1. open file with ON checkbox "audit"
2. manage > purge unused
3. manage > manage links
4. insert > manage images
5. save the project with new name
6. check your family Lib. maybe some of your families is too heavy.
if it isn`t help, please show your model (jpeg of your 3d)
Hi,
Thanks for your suggestions
I tried what you said but didn't work.
I deleted every object in the scene so I got 0 objects, 0 families, etc.
That's why I found this very weird !
Again, have you tried to Save As?
Can you show a screenshot of the 3D of the model, so we have an idea of the size of the project?
165Mb really isn't that big, unless you've modelled a bungalow or something small.
I deleted all the model to see if it was a familly or an other object that increase the size but it seems not.
So I got 0 model, my viewport is empty. That's why I found this very weird
There has to be something lingering in the file, can you upload it or post a download link?
The file size was due to 2 DWG imports.
I managed to select them with Dynamo.
The number in green is the element ID. Use the tool Select By ID to select the imports, unpin them and delete.
After deleting them, the file size went down to 2,26Mb.
In the future avoid importing a dwg, instead use Link. It's easier to remove these instances (Manage Links).
file became 2mb vhen i delete "Nuveau RDC"Level so.... there is ouf files
you don`t need Dynamo. You can use standart app from ModPlus.org
you can find this dwg and delete them from this window:
