Trying to properly set undermount sinks. They should all be hosted on the underside of the counter tops.
Trying to select underside of the top as host does not work. How is this done usually? For now we added a top to the cabinet and then select the cabinet as host - that works somewhat but not totally accurate. Ideally the sink would be hosted at underside of countertop as some of our
cabinets do not have tops and the one's that do get cut out 1" past sink dimension so sink can be attached to underside of top.
Perhaps you need another version of the sink family. A version in which the sink can be moved down by the same thickness of the countertop. By doing that, you won't need to change the host.
Do you place the sink in the project or nest it in the countertop family?
Depending on the rest of the project/workflow I have used different solutions.
-Create worktop with cutout and place sink in the right position. Sink can then be hosted or unhosted.
-Create face based family and host to underside of worktop. Face based family contains void to create cutout in worktop.
-Create face based family and host to topside of worktop. Face based family contains void to create cutout in worktop and a parameter to offset sink. Offset set (manually) to thickness of worktop
