Hello
Me and some colleagues have been working in a Revit file (2018) for some months without any synching issue, however, today I opened the file and is not allowing anyone to synchronize with the central file saying that the "Central file is read-only or opened by someone else", even when the file is just open in one machine. I already tried the suggestion of slhm92 in another post ( https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep-forum/r2018-unable-to-write-to-central-model-it-is-read-onl... ) but it didn't solve the issue. I will appreciate any help on the matter

First, get everyone out of the model.
Audit and compact the model.
If that does not fix it, I would try to open it using Detach From Central and saving it as the central.
Other options would be going to a back-up or even a recent local file.
Rob, thanks for the quick reply. Digging deeper it seems that the problem was that a name of one of the users was changed in the middle of a working session without relinquishing elements. Is there a way to solve the issue without having to create a new central file?
Change the user name back to the other one and relinquish.
If that doesn't work, open the central model using the detach from central option and save back to the central.
Make sure to have a back-up copy of the central handy in case things go really south.
