unable to save my changes in my sheet

Hello,

I have succeeded to edit my A4 sheet (see screenshot).

Then I clicked on the close button at the top right of Revit window, and Revit asked me if I want to save my changes in "Metric A4". So I clicked on "YES", but I had this error message (see screenshot): "impossible to write in Metric A4 (in read-only mode or in use)".  But I have not loaded this sheet in my project, so I don't understand why I cannot save in "Metric A4".

Dismiss the error and cancel closing. Use File → Save As → Family to save a new My A4.rfa in a writable folder such as Documents, then Load into Project. The family can be saved before loading it. Hope this helps. If it solves the issue, you’re welcome to mark it as a solution so others can find it more easily.

This is a simple computer literacy question. 

You gave the answer in your post. The file is either opened in another session or it is marked as Read Only. If you are editing the OOTB families, use Save As to another location. That way the original is still intact in case you need to refer back to it.

I have succeeded to "save as" my edited A4 sheet directly in the "Title blocks" folder, then I have loaded this new A4 sheet in my project with no problem (see screenshot).

It is advisable to save edited OOTB families to a different location with a different name so that you have the original for future reference or use. It's just general good practice, not necessary but generally good.
