Unable to get view in Revit onto a sheet to the correct scale

Hi all,

Im having problems when i drag my model site onto a sheet, as it is far too big for the sheet.

Basically i have linked in an AutoCAD dwg to Revit. The ACAD files units is mm and i linked it to Revit by m's and shared co-ordinates. I have tried changing my project units in Revit to m's and mm's and then dragging it onto a sheet but both times it appears far too big for the sheet.

I have set my scale for the model site to 1:200 and i have tried linking the ACAD dwg by mm's m's and by shared co-ordinates and origin to origin to see if that works (basically i've tried all the import options).

No matter what i try it doesn't seem to work.

Anyone have any ideas as to how i can get it to the correct scale onto a sheet?

Thanks.

To add to this, I have a feeling that i need to link the ACAD dwg in at mm's but when i do this i can't even see the import so it doesnt even show anything. But when i try m's it comes in perfectly at the correct position etc.

So maybe bringing it in at mm's is correct but how do i see the import? I have my view range all to unlimited.

After link the DWG and the scale is incorrect, select it and edit Type.  Then you can enter the correct scale to fix it.

Hi @ToanDN

Thanks for the reply!

I tried this but when i specify the correct scale it moves the imported dwg to another location. I want it to stay at the same co-ordinates as i have it in the desired position atm.

I tried pinning the element and specifying the scale again but it still moves it.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Many thanks

Mark a known point before you scale the DWG so that you can move it back to the point afterward.

Do this
1. Remove the cad import.. delete it.
2 . Open cad in Autocad. Check the units “UN”
3. Fix the unit. If it’s meters keep meters.. whatever
4. Purge and save the cad
5. Link that cad ( not import ) in Revit plan..
6. Check “ this view only “ import units should match the cad units ( meters or mm )
7. Check centre to centre while linking..
8. Now you should be able to see the cad..

Cheers
