Two layers of a wall to show different materials in plan view

Hi,

I would like to show a wall in plan view with different materials.

I can achieve this in section but the plan shows the same material, any guess what i might be doing wrong?

Thankyou for your tips.

Hi @indiana_j0nes

Check the detail level of the plan view.  Coarse will show ... well Coarse detail level, and medium and fine will show more detail.

check the height of the wall and the View Range value , so to be sure the wall is cut int your Plan View..

Thankyou for your reply Joe,

I am in fine detail level. Still. Something very simple is off.

Thankyou for your reply

I actually would like to see the wall in two layers in plan view without having the wall to be cutting through in plan view.

Imagine this to be a skirting, and I want the skirting to show two different materials in plan view.

Sounds like you are describing a Stacked Wall.  Maybe the lower wall one representing a wainscot?  Have you thought about modeling it that way? As a Stacked Wall?  Doing it that way would allow you to TAB-Select each Wall independently and modify their graphical representations in the view (i.e. Graphic Overrides by Element).
