Hi,
With the introduction of Toposolids with Revit 2024 I noticed by default this category is enabled. In all of my views and view templates, this category is enabled and I have quite a lot of view templates for Arch and MEP., Instead of manually going to view - view templates - manage view templates and going through every single view template model category and unchecking the "top solid" box, is there a faster way to turn that model category off globally? This way I would only need to enable it in zoning and site. Thanks in advance!
There is no such thing as turning a category off "globally" by default in Revit. There should be but there isn't.
Since Revit is always throwing new things at us and not allowing us options about what to do with the new things when updating a file and/or template all I can do is offer a couple of possible workarounds.
1) Consider a scripted solution using Dynamo or the API that will allow you to parse through all of your templates. Such a scripted solution may take a bit to figure out for you but, if written in such a way as to let you pick categories when you launch it, you will have a solution for this specific issue as well as the new ones they throw at you on the next release.
2) If you are using worksharing you can create a workset called site or some such that is not visible in views by default (by unchecking the "Visible in all Views" option) and place any Toposolids on that workset. Then make that workset visible (either via templates or individually) in the few views that you want to see it/them.
