Hi all,
I'm kind of a newb, so please don't judge. The picture I've attached is a free form light fixture that Im trying to model. All the "reference" lines need to turn into tubes coming out of the center sphere. Can someone please explain to me in a simple way how to achieve this. I've tried to make circle profiles along the reference line at the points and hold control, select the reference line and then "create form" but Revit says the form can't be created. Please help!

Hi @Anonymous,
This may because the diameter of the circle you tired to create is bigger than the acceptable for this wavy-reference lines to create the sweep, try to reduce the diameter of the circle.
please attach the family if you could.
Thanks.
Prathap Sekar,
Thanks for the thought but I thought maybe it was because the diameter was too small. It's only 5mm so I don't think that's it.
- Place a new point on the spline
- Draw the circle profile and pick the cross plane of the point as the workplane
- Select the circle and the spline to create form
ToanDN,
Thanks so much. It did work, but it unfortunately won't let me make the radius 5mm. When I used 40mm it worked fine. If there is another workaround for this, I would love to hear it but I'm afraid that's just Revit's way of letting me know it's too small for the program to handle. Thanks again for the solution.
By the way, it also worked using that radius without placing an additional point. I guess it was just too small.
OMG I'm such a newb lol. My whole model was way too large. I clicked on one of the reference lines and it measured 190000 mm... Now I used the right lengths for the splines and creating the tubes at a diameter of 5mm worked just fine. Thanks again to everyone that helped get me to this point of realization, you guys are awesome!
