Trying to place ceilings in my basement plan but the auto sketch is grabbing the rooms on the level one plan

Auto sketch is not working in Level One Ceiling plan and in the Basement Ceiling plan it is highlighting the Level One rooms. How can I fix this?

Is the current work plane set to the basement level?  Is the view's associated level correct?  Can you show the Basement ceiling plan's view range configuration?

The Automatic Ceiling tool has been designed to identify closed loops that are formed by walls.

Are those walls extending below their host level so that they appear within the view range settings of the basement?

Can you show a section?  What is the view's phasing?

I figured out that if I change the height offset for the basement ceiling plan to anything below 8’ then I can auto sketch the ceiling. Then I can go into a section view and change it to 8’. BUT I can’t see it in the basement ceiling plan view even though I have a material pattern set to it. And I can’t tab to grab it. I have the underlay set at none.  I have attached a section view. The phase filter is set to show previous + new and the phase to New construction.

No, the main floor walls are set on level 1.

The walls in the basement need to extend higher, up to the level...or at least past the ceiling elevation you want to use.
