Hello all,
Here is the problem - I have a Generic Annotation family nested into a furniture family. The Generic Annotation needs to be seen in Architectural Seating Plans, but when MEP links our model into theirs, they don't need to see it.
Since it's a Generic Annotation family, it can't be Shared. And since BOTH Architecture and MEP plans are created with Coarse detail, setting the visibility of the Generic Annotation to only show at Medium or Fine will not help either. How do I filter the Generic Annotation out so that only the Furniture is visible in the host MEP view?
Any help would be appreciated....

Will a visibility yes/no parameter help you out? Toggle on and off to suite your needs per view?
Classic problem. Haven't found an elegant solution so far.
If the generic annotation is just made up of lines you could put them on a subcategory and toggle that on/off. But that won't work for text or regions. (if you'd like to see that functionality, you can vote for it here and here
Best I can think of is nesting the generic family in a shared family (for example generic model) which you can then filter.
Nest the annotation family in a shared model family of the category you can turn off in MEP (such as entourage or whatever), nest that family in your main furniture family.
@ToanDN - no luck. When I load the Entourage family with the nested Generic Annotation into the Furniture family, and then load the whole into the Project, the Generic Annotation disappears anyway - whether the Entourage category is checked or unchecked.
Ignore me, @ToanDN . The Entourage family was hosted to the ref level, so was hidden by the Furniture geometry. I gave it an elevation above the ref level, and it now works beautifully. Thank you!
Ignore the last message too - the level change wasn't required either.
