Trouble with adding plaster

I'm having problem adding plaster to my project, as I already know that we can add finish layer on wall from its properties. But what if your projects have RCC columns & beams along with walls. there is no option for columns to add plaster on it and also guide me how to set that where my plaster will stop. Also tell me if create my own family for columns and beams with plaster then how can I set attributes for my plaster layer to stop it where it joins to other elements in my projects. Thanks.

Notes: I have already tried making duplicate wall with thickness of plaster, modified families to add plaster but non of that work with the plaster line I want to make.Revit Forum Question.PNG

If you use architectural columns rather than structural columns, they will assume the same finishes as the walls that they join to.

If you need to have structural columns, then you can also create a separate wall layer that is only the plaster.  Align this to the wall's plaster layer.

Thank you for your solution. do you have any other option except wall sweep of plaster thickness? like solution with family editing or something like permanent solution other then adding wall everythime.

I attach an image showing on the left, structural column, architectural columns the same size on the right, and centrally, architectural column aligned to the wall.  Note how the column takes on the wall properties.

We often have structural columns within the architectural columns as a finish, or we show architectural columns and have structural columns in a link where the project is coordinated.
