i have walls that have sweep built-in in the structure as sweeps. When i am trying to remove material painted on the sweep, it won't let me do it. Can anyone know how to solve the problem? thx
Hmmm. Some thoughts:
- If you CUT that wall then PASTE it back into the same place, would that help? (I mean cut to clipboard not cut geometry)
- If you remove those sweeps (or try replacing them with a new sweep that is identical to the old one but named differently) ....
- Copy that wall and paste into a new model and send it to me.
Let me know!
if i remove it, it fixed the problem. but this method is not practical for me, since the whole project has so many different walls that i need to change.
i don't why i cannot upload the revit model here it keeps telling it autosaved
i may need to change the material later again, and i would have to painted again. i wanna find a way do it once for all from material setting.
OK.
I confirm that this is a bug. I tried it myself and I'm stuck too. I will keep playing with it after work, but don't keep your hopes up.
I will report this to Autodesk. Meanwhile, Edit the wall type structure, delete the sweep, click apply, then re-add it. OR, did you try painting it with a different material? or the "Default"?
I can repainted with the material I want for now, but if I need to change later, I will have to do the same all over again.
In General, I teach students to NOT use the PAINT tool because it is cancer to your model. Very manual and problematic.
Instead, add the material via the same SWEEPS dialog you're using (see atatched screenshot). However, this will apply to new walls only, and the painted ones will not change, because PAINT takes priority over type properties.

Hey @sasha.crotty @ryan.duell @harlan_brumm You guys aware of this little bug? you can't remove paint from a sweep if it is built into a wall type?

)
Delete the material from the material browser. Of course you will say nah...
Or, edit the wall type, edit the sweep table, duplicate the sweep and delete the original.

It's screwy. Split the Wall and the integrated sweep becomes unpainted.
