I am working to transfer my autocad drawings to revit. I need the plan to look the exact same as image 1. However, I am not sure how to go about building one-off instances in the model. Image 2 is where I am able to get with revit so far. image 1 from autocad
need this to look exactly like image 1, but when i build the pop out as a mass, I cannot join and I end up with an extra line
What's the purpose of this exercise. Sincere question.
....maybe it's the wording of your question that's throwing me off: "I am working to transfer my autocad drawings to revit. I need the plan to look the exact same."
the easiest way to do it is by using Component>Model in Place>Wall and create an Extrusion with the desired profile. You will be able then ,to place openings in this wall and also to connect wit other walls by Joining..

This exercise is to see if we can keep our drawing standards from autocad. We would like to transfer to a more efficient workflow but do not want to sacrifice the way our plans appear. While there might be more "lines" appearing in the wall buildup in real life (image 2), for graphic purposes we do not want to see them.
Thanks! In the plan, if I want to see a line for the framing (blue line in image 1), how would I add that back in to this extrusion method? I would like to be able to see these lines in sections as well so I don't want to just draw detail lines. But when I use a normal "wall" I have trouble joining it to my extrusion.
