Is it possible to transfer an area plan (or multiple) from one Revit file to another. I currently have the problem that I have a file that about a days worth of of work has been done to it but it is not the most recently updated file. I need to be able to transfer all of the area plan work that has been done to the old file to the new, more recent one and merge them somehow. Otherwise the work has to be done over again. Ive tried linking them, inserting it into the new file from the old one and many other things but nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated.
Clipboard Copy/Paste.
- Transfer Project Standards > Area Volume Calculations: to bring over the Area Schemes from A (old file) to B (working file)
- Open A and Create Area Plans of the applicable Area Schemes
- Link B in A, open Area plans and set Link VG to By Linked View, then choose the Area Plan view you created
- Repeat for any other Area plan views
- Bind link
Interesting thread and quite the dilemma. I understand your approach, @ToanDN. You're suggesting to Link the most current project work into the old project (the one with the Area info) and then Bind the link. That approach wouldn't give you the slightness pause? Sounds a little scary to me, especially if the current Project has a lot of additional work.
