Tracking General Notes

I want to be able to track general notes. I've tried multiple methods that lead to more complications. here is what I have so far... See image below. my question is can I track general notes using some kind of an automated date system? Current date and View name you see is from a different family catalog. Capture.PNG

Automatic date/time stamp is only accessible for titleblock families.

I'm not sure what you mean by "tracking"?   Can you be a little more specific?

Typically running through a project we run into changes either by architect or sometimes there is departmental mistakes that needs to be noted to keep track of what has to be done. So I would like to the ability of knowing what user wrote down a note, date note was added ,and/or what view it was in. So I tried it through general annotations and I find everything I need to add is not automated and I have to enter it every time. If I can get any of those 3 things automatically added based on user it would save me a lot of time. I can track different departments currently using different families for each. Note: I Do Use collaborative space
Thank you

Kind of figured but is there an advanced custom notation family I can use?

... so an honor system won't work for you? That is, relying on users to input date and comments themselves, along with the note number and text.  Try making it a condition of employment.  That ought to motivate them.  Smiley (zwinkernd)

No.  But you can add a text parameter to the family  and have users enter the date/time they check out the family.

it's not about the honor system lol. we currently use BlueBeam for our notes and each comment has its history. we are trying to switch over from AutoCAD to Revit and I am trying to explore its potential. no one is perfect, mistakes tend to happen and I'd like to reduce it if I can.

thanks

If there is no easy way of tracking a note, then we might need to still use Bluebeam for this specific task or might find another way Revit of doing so.

thank you

ill keep this form updated of what I did

Yeah, I get it. I was kind of jesting. I can definitely see the value.  Wish Revit had some sort of tracking like this in other areas as well.

I think you are talking about tracking Comments on the model, are you not?  If so, make use of the system Comments parameter already built-in to every element in Revit.  Create a schedule with that parameter and you can track the Comments for each and every element.  Users can click on a row in the schedule that says "Fix this or else" and jump to the very element in the model, fix (or not), then provide a response that will reflect in the schedule in real time.

You can even format the schedule to filter/sort/group/highlight with color by different Comments.

That is a great way of tracking I will definitely try it but even though there will not be a visual comment on the view it self you'd have to use schedule and set up a highlighted parameter for any newly added comment. I have tried something like that using general annotations.
