Hi Revit users and experts,
I have sought for the easy method to get the total weight of system families such as compound floors or walls.
There are set physical assets for each material in the layers.
According to the previous post, I know I can extract density and volume for each material, then calculate weight by using the calculated value.
Or using Dynamo.
I just wonder if there are some other ways to know the weight for each component easily.
Especially, it is a bit hassle to calculate weights for compound walls and floors which set different material for different layers.
It also seems achievable for Revit to add weight built-in parameter since there are already built-in parameters for thermal mass and resistance extracted from a material asset.
Anyhow, it will be appreciated if you share your wisdom!
Thanks
Yuki
An easier way? Why not through a Revit Schedule? You can use Mass Density and Volume in a Calculated Parameter to calculate Material Weight. And, you can assign a unique Mark to Walls and Floors, which can use to sort and group and total the weights of the compound-layered component.
