Hi There,
I am new to this forum and hoping someone can help.
I am trying to create a toposurface with some contours that are quite complex which I am importing from CAD.
I separated the contours out into separate layers so I could add the elevation one layer at a time in revit. When I initially started trying to convert them to a toposurface I had them all in one layer and it was working but was going to take forever with such a large area. Once I separated them into individual layers, it then put a bounding box around the points so it was not creating the surface to the contour shape I wanted.
Does anyone know why this is or is there an easier way to do this?
I have attached some screen shots to try and demonstrate the issue I am having.
Thanks,
Kat

...have you thought about elevating the contour lines in AutoCAD and re-importing it into Revit? You can then create your Revit Toposurface via Select Import Instance.
Hi
Clean up the file and crop only for your SITE..
its too detailed in CAD, so theres no point creating a large topo..
try to focus on the site..
If the contour lines in CAD don't have height information ( ELEVATION, Elevated)
then ask for correct Survey from your consultant.. and then go ahead..
best luck.
