Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me as this error is driving me mad, I'm trying to cut out the outline of a building from a topo solid using a created in place void extrusion. This has worked ok for the majority of the building, but creates an error that just says "can't make cut out" when I try to alter the outline to include the conservatory. I have tried numerous ways of approaching this, such as making this as a seperate object, which seems to cutout the outline of the conservatory else where on the site toposolid, but when I try to move it into the correct location, I get the same error.
The problem seems to be the intersection with this particular are of the Toposolid, but I have no idea why or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I had the same problem just now. Try isolate the void component with the toposolid and make the cut. It seems there is a bug when you are trying to do it and there are other elements in them.
Any news on how to resolve that?
I have the same situation.
It seems like the first time I used toposolid void it worked.
After saving, reopen the file and try to modify the toposolid cause an error.
I'm having the same problem. Have tried it many different ways to just test it and alas "can't make cut". I was high on Toposolids at first, but am getting increasingly frustrated with this new direction Autodesk has taken. Fix this bug Autodesk! I also have to wait minutes for a successful cut to finish it's process. Very frustrating and time-wasting.
Please take a look at the following article. Particularly to Cut/ Join link.

hopefully it will not linked to the 20 mile limit?
I had the same issue and just solved it. When creating/tracing your building outline, try offsetting the extrusion sketch 6" off the face of your building. Then cut the toposolid, and finish the in-place model. Apparently, it really doesn't want to intersect with any other object.
This offset worked for me. do not think it will be the best solution for all cases. best if Autodesk works on fixing this bug.
