hi there.

im working on a landscape plan in revit. im design the toposoild as I wanted to and then put some floor as stairs. when I create a section thought the stairs the toposolid won't cut of where there is a stairs, so I get cut hatch of both toposolid and floor. how can I fix it so when there is a floor the topsolid will be cut off?

thanks

There are several ways to cut/excavate or clean up a topo solid and each method depends on how you created the stairs...

Example:

  • If you used floor elements to create the steps => You would use Excavate (select the Toposolid and from the contextual menu on the ribbon envoke Excavate then use the floor elements to cut toppsolid)
  • If you used an exrutsion, beams or walls or if you have used System Stair component you would need to use a void

Other below grade elements such as foundations, walls, columns you can clean up the toposolid by using join geometry
