Topography split surface that follows a sloped bend road

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a complex topography site, on this site there's a new construction road which has multiple falls, bends and straights.

The new construction road doesn't follow the existing site, so I've split the surface when I needed to create a banking along the new const road. When I'm on a straight, I align the topography boundary point to the edge of the road (which has been modelled as a floor and modified the sub elements to create the slope) and that's great, but on a bend it won't let me do it, I can't align the topography boundary point to the edge of the bend so that it follows the edge of the road. Hope I explained myself! Please bear in mind the road has longitudinal and cross falls! Thanks!

my suggestion would be (if you use > Revit2018) to use Railing as road. It follows the Toposurface and can use any closed profile, as in my example:

Thanks for this message.

The road has different crossfalls in different direction so it doesn't have a single profile. However, I don't want the road follows the toposurface, but the toposurface needs to follow the road! Thanks

It's hard to visualize what you are describing.

It sounds like you are snapping points to the road, but not entering an elevations for those points.  I suspect you are doing this in Plan View, where you can snap to the road edge, and when you close out of sketch mode and go to 3D, your're seeing that the topography isn't following the road. Is that it?  If so, that's because you didn't tell the point what elevation it is was suppose to be at.  If the road edge you are snapping the point to is 5'-0" above the Toposurface, then you need to set the point elevation to 5'-0" Relative to the Surface.

If that wasn't it, I could definitely figure out what's up if you posted the file.  Feel free to do so.

Thanks to everyone.

Sorry if I didn't explain myself very well.

I'm looking for the quickest way to amend a toposurface in relation to the edge of a floor.

I need to raise/lower the boundary point of the toposurface to the same level of the edge of the road.

As I have multiple points to the bend, it's really complicated to add the z value manually.

On a straights what I've done is (instead adding manually the z value to the boundary point) to use the align tool to align the surface of the road to the boundary point of the toposurface, but on a bend it doesn't work!

Please see attached.. Thanks!
