Hi all,
I have to model a topography of a building already modelled in revit.
By your experience is better to model directly in ARCH model or create it in a new project and linked in ARCh model instead?
To keep file size down I would recommend create a separate site model with the topo and link your building in to that.
(But i have seen people create the topo in the Arch model).
are you the owner of the arch model or is it coming from someone else? if its coming from someone else i agree with @Alan.johnson1970 . if you own the arch model, i think its ok to just add it to your arch model directly, as long as your not talking about hundreds of acres/hectares.

The topography modeller is different from ARCH one.
So I thought to link a topo file , instead of preparing a workset and consequently local file.
usually what we did, two separate files site plan and building model, we link the building model into a site plan, but you can still do a vice versa linking. thanks
Depends on the size of the project. If the project isn't too large and consists of a single building, I don't see any advantage to creating a separate topo file.
