Topo Wont Make Subregion

ok so i think i had majorly screwed my topo surface.....

It wont let me make a subregion.

1. when i sketch a subregion and press the big green tick it displays:

'Subregions cannot intersect'.

2. Just as a test, when i try to make a building pad  and hit the big green tick again and it it tells me:

'The Site Surface failed to triangulate. It happens if a Subregion be completely inside/overlap a BuildingPad. It may happen in other situations as well.'

3. The topography is displaying as a grey colour when the material is set to <By Category> therefore should be displaying as a green colour.

These 3 clues lead me to believe that the toposurface may have a giant subregion already encompassing the whole thing?

But for the life of me i cant find/select it to delete it :enttäuschtes_Gesicht:

I've attached the file if you want to get a play.

Thanks for the help in advance

hi @Anonymous,

I think you have two issues there.

  1. Conflict between building pads and regions. The messages suggest that you cannot have one overlaping the other one. I suggest you check their span.
  2. The grey element is very important, it would suggest that your topo is in a different phase! That would explain a lot!

I will have a look at your file,

re-hi @Anonymous,

I have checked your model and everything work fine on my side... see proof picture.

On the other hand, be careful of two things:

  1. your toposurface is very complex with many points. Maybe you should consider using the simplifying the surface tool located in the contextual ribbon when you edit your topo
  2. just be careful when you draw that the sketch of your subregion / pad doesn't overlap another one, OR that it is well contained by the toposurface! (it cannot be any bigger than the toposurface you try to modify!)

Then everything should be fine!

PS: if not solved, try doing exactly the same operation on another computer so check the problem desn't come from your revit install...
