toggle between visibility in a family

(I think there should be a forum dedicated to family creation and editing, not necessarily discipline specific)

Anyhow... I have to toggle between 2 options in a family, it's either one element, or another. I currently have a visibility parameter on each that I control them with. X2 since I have this condition on each side of my family. So I uncheck one, then check the other. How can I set this up to be controlled by a single toggle? Thanks.

Hi

You'll use a formula. Let's say that you have a yes/no parameter A for an option, and a yes/no parameter B for another. Choose one of them and apply the formula "=not(parameter name)". As exemple: "not(B)" will automatically turn visible all A when B is unchecked.

Hi @rodrigo.bezerra, I'm hoping you can assist me with something to this solution: How can one make use of this feature if there are a number of options to display; say 6.

I'm trying to create a furniture family that will display a different number of nested furniture families (workstations desks), depending on what is selected in the properties of the family. i.e If I select  "cluster of 2", from a drop down menu perhaps,  then the family will display 2 desks. If I select "cluster of 6", then 6 desks area displayed; etc. I would like to create 6 of these within the family.

Hope this makes sense

To be honest, Justin, it doesn't. To handle quantities you rather use array. Depending on the purpose you can even associate array and visibility, toggling on/off in a formula like "visibility= array>X". One last advice: do not try to model super families to tackle any and every variation. It's time consuming and you eventually fail. At some point you just have to trust the team to be diligent.
