Titleblock text is changing on different PC's?

Why do my texts scale differently on different PC's?

Like for example my textbox shortens when my coworker opens the project on his PC, but the text is fine on mine.

for instance

MEPFS

turns into

MEP

FS

On some PC's the text is fine, while on others, it's not. One thing I noticed is that my version is Revit 2020.2 while my officemate who has his texts scaling has version 2020.2.9, does that have anything to do with it?

I mean he can always edit it, but wouldn't that show differently on my pc as well?

Thanks!

The font handling was done in earlier version of Revit I think.

It might have to do with the (windows) font types available on the two computers. If one computer use a certain font that is not available on the other than it will be substituted for another one which might be be larger. Try it with a more default font like Arial (almost always available on all computers).

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

Both PCs have the same OS? Are you using some non-standard fonts, or just the Revit oob? Best to use standard, then you likely avoid such issues. Arial is great for screen and paper if clarity is your objective.

Probably should be on the same version, but I don't think this is the issue here.

Thanks for the response!

We have the same OS, and the font is just set at Arial 2mm, but for some reason 2 of my workmates PC doesn't show the texts properly as mentioned above. So I don't think the font is the issue

What version of Revit are you using? What font is actually assigned to the text style? I've seen text styles that are named Arial, for example, but on closer inspection find they are assigned to something else. Fonts changed significantly with Revit 2017. If the file was active in 2016 or earlier and upgraded then you may need to replace the existing text styles with new ones. Try a brand new text style, place a couple examples and then see if they look the same between team members. As mentioned earlier, the OS and installed fonts will definitely matter. Just because some in IT says they are all the same, or nothing has been changed, doesn't mean it is true 😉 Double check.

Thanks to @SteveKStafford and @L.Maas . Your comments were right, it had something to do with the font styles available on our PC. But it had something to do with Arial Narrow font itself.

We tried installing some arial narrow fonts on the PC itself, and the issue was fixed.
