Hi All,
Any help would be extremely appreciated. Revit is slowly killing me and my mind. haha
Our Company is new to revit - I am the first. I created a titleblock (24x36) from the 30x42 default. It looks great and seems like it should work. When I try to print a sheet it leaves a lot of blank space and margin around the titleblock. I think I have found the error, but I cant figure out how to change it. When I click on my titleblock under "Identity Data" it has the sheet width as 4'-3" and the sheet height as 3'-1 1/2" (greyed out of course). Im certain this is the issue, but I cant figure out how to change it and my searches are leaving me empty.
Can someone help me figure this out? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

In the titleblock family there is usually a “frame” made of invisible lines and that is what determines the sheet size. Find it and set it to the exact paper size without margins.
Thanks for the help, I dont see that at all - but I will keep trying to look. I think my issue may because I have reference lines that im using to define margins and other properties in my TB. I want to keep them, but i cant find this frame you speak of so I may just get rid of my reference lines
How did you create the new one? Did you edit the family and modified it? if yes, Post the title block family which you have modified for us to have a look and tell you what is going on

In your case then it would be the reference lines which would determine the extents of the sheet.
Set them to the exact paper size, ignoring margins. Then put your titleblock central within those.
That is exactly what I have done! Works now. still not perfect to my OCDness with printer settings (still working through that) but the reference lines were my issue. Thanks for all the help!

The outer "frame" is only there to set the extents of the sheet. That's why they are usually made from Invisible lines and won't appear in a print.
Then you set the page size of your visible title block to suit your printer margins.
Then you print at 100% scale with Centre alignment
At least that's how I do it and never had an issue.
I have my Top and Bot margin set at 1/2", but for some reason it just prints around 1/8". I tried your method and it didnt help, but I appreciate the advise nonetheless
Create the titleblock family with crop mark or invisible lines (invisible line style, but the visible box should be ticked) for 24 x 36 boundary. The actual titleblock should be within the boundary with some margin of your choice. Nothing should be outside if the 24 x 36 boundary, zoom out and do a large window selection to confirm. When print, choose No margin or printer limits, scale 100%.
FWIW final issue on printing was layout and cutting options - remove blank areas was checked. after unchecking it now fully works. Pretty complicated overall printing process compared to just plain autocad but it is what it is.

If you need to remove blank area after printing to get to the correct size then you paper size chosen under Printer preference is incorrect. If you follow the settings laid out below + choose the 24 x 26 (ARCH D) paper size under Printer preference then the output should be correct without any additional action.
Revit's printing is not as sotificated as AutoCAD's but getting things to print out at the correct size shouldn't be an issue.

I don’t get what you’re saying.
If your overall sheet size is 36x24” and you have 1/2” borders then the printed part of the sheet will be 35x23”, so where does the 1/8” come from?
Print at 100% and with alignment set to Centre as I showed above, the print will be automatically be centred and cropped and you’ll get your 35x23” printout - unless your 1/2” margins are too tight for the printer to handle.
