Title blocks insert point and modifying insert point

How can I adjust where my companies title block so it loads in to a project at the same location as the one we are replacing? We have one company send us Design Documents and we turn them in to Construction Document where we load our title block and set it up more accuratly for construction. It would be easier if we could have the same insertion point. thanks

Hi @Anonymous

The origin and the insertion points of a family are always the intersection of the two original reference planes of the family. Go to Visibility Graphics, under Annotation, and mark them to be shown.

Looking to do the same, except there are no reference planes in titleblock families. The only solution I have - which by no means is perfect and could lead to some minor slight variation - is to place a titleblock family onto a sheet and measure. On a blank sheet, draw two detail lines to get your insertion point. Place a titleblock from the project browser, and put your mouse on the crosshairs, and then measure the x and y axis dimensions to then adjust your titleblock families. Cumbersome and tedious, I know but it gets the job done.

Cheers

@RevitRx - try this in the titleblock family -

 - place two intersecting invisible lines or reference lines at the desired location which would then give you a reference point to snap to once the titleblock is inserted.

I think the insertion point of a titleblock is the internal origin of the Titleblock family. You can find the origin by importing a DWG into the family [ origin to origin ]. (Mark the origin in the DWG)
