TIP: Multicategory TAG

Hi all,

As title I am seeking tip for tagging elements.

I usually use multicategory tag beacuse it allows me tag different categories in one.

Instead of import whatsover Shared Paramenter, I try to use Revit in-Build parameters thus: TypeComments Comments, TypeMark, Mark and Description.

According your experience, how do you use the above mentioned paramenters? Whic h Information you assign into?

iam working with Comment for instance or use Type comment for Types this is the best way for me and not time consuming

First thing is to determine is whether the information you want to enter into those Fields are Instance Properties or Type Properties.

Instance Parameter (e.g. Comments, Mark) - Enables you to modify the parameter value separately for every instance.

Type Parameter (e.g. Type Comments, Type Mark) - Enables you to modify the parameter value, which applies to all elements of the family type.

Multi-category tag is great. I use it a lot to have consistent notes and unique notes. Parameters I use would be Type Comments for having the same note when I am tagging same family in multiple view and use comments for unique notes that only specific to that view. I also use model and description if type comment is used. As well I usually combine two value like Type Mark and comments if I want to reference the object ID with additional comments.
