Define them in a "Sloped Glazing" Curtain Wall.

Hello @Anonymous !

I assume you mainly wan't to display those battens in section views?

If this is the case, I will tell you my practice. I create a roof with all its layers. One of those layers represents space where those battens will be installed. Then, in section views, I use 2d components to enrich the drawing.

I attached family which I usually use for any wood elements that are hidden inside of walls, floors or roofs. That could be a stud, a rib, a batten...

Is just a masking region. It has two instance parameters: "a" and "b".

...or use the OOTB Detail Item component ("Nominal Cut Lumber-Section.rfa") found under "061100-Wood Framing". Smiley (zwinkernd)

Wow! This is wonderful. It is exactly what I wanted it for. This saved me a lot of time.

and it is adaptable so it's perfect!

Out of curiosity what do you use for tiles?

Also, how do you create a the other layers? you duplicate the roof, with different thickness?

Thank you very much for the help.

I' m glad we helped! :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

I just create one roof (its type has multiple layers). Open up type properties, "edit" structure and explore :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Every layer has a material assigned to it. So, a tile material will be assigned to one of the layers.

Drill down into the OOTB "Detail Items" folder.

Thank you again for the reply,

So under libraries, I have U.S Metric, U.S imperial, and then I have different countries. I couldn't find a folder named: OOTB, I found another detail folder for the Malaysia folder, but it is not there. Am I missing something.

Thank you.

Thank you very much Dr_Grozozo, the multi layer roof worked. but I will probably have to upload a tile family so it can appear in the section.

Thank you again. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Sorry for the confusion. “OOTB” stands for “Out of the box”, meaning that it’s included in the initial install. In this case, I’m referring to a family “Rough Cut Lumber-Section.rfa” that is found in the Imperial Library under the folders: “Detail Items” > “Div 06-Wood and Plastic” > “061100-Wood Framing”.

I see. Thank you for the clarification. I think for me, I don't have the full imperial library. maybe because of my installation settings.

Thank you for your time.
