Tilting an object via adaptive family

hnA_020223-001.jpg

i have this pair of flipflops imbedded in a piece of build up furniture as shown. For insanity shake, they supposed to tilt along the holder surface.

I Googled and followed instructions, of making objects rotate in 3d, using generic adaptive family. Upon loading this adaptive-ready-flipflop family back into the furniture family, Rv said I can only load it into adaptive pattern or Mass families.

     What should I do ?

OR maybe there is an easier way to do this ?

Look at the Instance Properties of the Adaptive Point. See Flip, Mirror, ROTATION ANGLE?

...you may need another Reference Point/Workplane driven by your Adaptive Point to make the Family rotate on the correct axis. Post the file here.

Pix attached.

However, the issue is "loading", not "execution of tilting".

Why do you need them to an adaptive family in the first place?  Use a simple face based or work plane based (uncheck Always vertical) then place on any surface you like.

The reason Revit is throwing the error is because you are NOT modeling in an Generic Model Adaptive Family Template.  You are modeling in an an Generic Model Pattern Based Family Template. Big difference.
