Hi Everyone,
I have a Revit model which I've imported from 3D Studio Max 2018 as an SAT file.
I'm wondering if there is a way of either removing or tidying up the geometry on this model (see photo) while being able to apply a solid colour fill. The model has been poly modelled but converted into an editable mesh. Before exporting it as an SAT into Revit I've selected all the lines on the model to make them invisible, despite that the lines still showed up on Revit.
I've tried the same process again but exported it as a DWG file. Though I was able to remove those messy geometric lines, I wasn't able apply a solid colour fill.
I've also tried NURB Modelling the same model on subject and exported it as an SAT. It was a success but I'm not the most fluent user on NUBR Modelling.
If anyone has any suggestions/solutions to this post I would most appreciate them.
Thank you.
Aemon
Hi @Anonymous
Welcome to the community! I see that you are a new visitor. ![]()
As the first step, I would recommend that you have the latest updates installed for your Revit version.
You can try a clean up in AutoCAD also.
Please see the article on About Importing ACIS Objects which has related information
You can import NURB (non-uniform rational B-splines) surfaces on ACIS objects in DWG or SAT files into mass or generic model families while you are creating the family.
To use ACIS imports for face-based host tools, import geometry into an in-place family of category Mass or Generic Model. Face-based tools work best on ACIS solids.
Let me know if this helps and if you have additional questions.
