The path you have specified for the default family template files is invalid

I have read the posts about this, but none of the suggestions worked for me. 

 

I just bought Revit LT yesterday and I am having some big issues. 
 
1. There are no templates
2. There is no viewcube in the floor plan, and no elevation markers, which are standard when you open any Revit product
3. There are no families. When I to to put an item in, it asks me if I want to load one. When I say yes, it takes me to a lot of folders with coded names that I do not recognize.
 
Please help me. I have two projects to get out immediately. I have been using Revit for 4 years now. I know how to use it. This is not right.

Welcome to the forum, @ramona.randolph

 

Try this: in Windows's control panel > programs and features > search for the word "content". There is usually a tool there by Autodesk to install the libraries and templates.

 

Then, in Revit, go to Options, and check your settings for File locations.

I finally got in touch with Autodesk IT. He could not fix my issue. He is
reaching out to a higher IT guy to try and figure out my problem. Your
suggestion is logical, but he tried that. He was able to get my template
working, but the rest of my content is missing. Meanwhile, my work is
getting behinder and behinder....
