The Most Common Wall Base Product for Commercial Spaces but Revit Doesn't Have That Option

How is it, rubber cove wall base is one of the most common products in commercial design, but I cannot find a profile to use in a wall sweep or a modeled-in-place sweep to show the base in my drawings?!?! I have looked on BIMObject, BIMSmith Market, Revit City, and the generic Revit preloaded library; and have STILL not found anything. The only thing I've ever seen for a cove base is a detail item in the preloaded library, but does THAT work for sweeps??? Of course not (insert eye roll here)

Ok. And I don't sit on this website everyday so my deepest apologies for making a mistake in the forum I selected. I'll be sure to scour every crevice of this website for 30 straight days next time I want to vent about a ridiculously simply issue that is so ridiculously simple, it shouldn't be an issue.

If you want a cove base profile, select a manufacturer you want to base your profile off of, find a section cut on their website with the dimensions and then draw the shape in a new profile family. Then load the family into your project and use it as you need.

Revit is a tool and they have created hundreds of prebuilt family types for its users but they don't have time to make every single one.

Learn how to make your own families so that you can leverage Revit's capabilities more efficiently.

In the amount of time it took you to search for a profile family on the internet and then post a complaint on the forums about not finding one you could have easily made this family 10 times.

Just create your own profile family.

Set the Profile Usage under Family Category as Wall Sweep

You can then create a wall sweep and use this profile.

Possible options:

  • Edit an existing wall sweep profile, by finding it in the project browser and right clicking it, choosing edit, Once the profile is loaded, you can customize a wall to always include that specific sweep.
  • Create new one from scratch, like   mentioned
  • Use in place component with sweeps

Shape-Editing.  That's how I rolled here.
