We have a team that is using Revit 2016 with A360 Collaboration for Revit. A new user that joined is not able to open up the Revit model. The model loads to 52% and then a dialog box pops up. saying The file cannot be opened. There are too many missing elements in it. We checked and there are no missing linked files. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem.

 Hello.

This problem may be originated by a lack of access from the A360 Hub on occasion, but you mention that the file does load up to 52% before throwing the error.  Therefore, this may be related to a Build compatibility, perhaps?

We have the Autodesk Revit Build Versions, where you can check that, if one update is missing, the program will have a different Build Number than others. For instance, if a user has Revit 2016, First Customer Ship (FCS), he will not have installed any updates that have been released for Revit afterwards, and may have issues working the same project as someone who uses, let's say, Revit 2016 Service Pack 2 (SP2).

It is important to confirm, first and foremost, that all versions of Revit being used are with the same amount of updates, since there is no Backwards Compatibilty. This will cause conflict when trying to open the same project in a computer if a person uses an older version of the program, and the project has been saved in a newer version.

Also, there could be elements in the project that are present, however the older version does not recognize, since these very updates can change the way Revit may read a project, albeit slightly, and may lead to issues like this one.
