Almost all of the jobs that I work on end up using detail groups with the text that gets rotated. In the past, if you rotated the text it would cause an offset. This causes the several issues such as covering lines and not appearing consistent with orthogonal text. I have dodged around this longstanding issue by typically creating unique detail groups for scenarios that were orthogonal and ones that were rotated. Same with symbols - I would add visibility settings to the labels and have them overlap each other so when the symbol was angled I could have it appear correctly.
We finally got to Revit 2017 and I was so excited that it appeared the text did NOT offset!
Turns out that is not the case. From what I can tell, the text renders on your screen as if there is no offset. However, when you go to print to PDF, there it is again. Please see the attachment to this post.
Does anyone know of a solution to this? It is quite frustrating that text of all things is still an issue.
