Text Editing acting funny

This has been a long time issue I've had with multiple versions and different computers. When editing text in a text callout it frequently ignores new input when something is highlighted, at least until I give a significant pause or hit backspace or delete. I double click into the text and everything will automatically highlight, but if I start typing right away it does absolutely nothing. I could write a paragraph without looking and it would still have the original text still highlighted. Sometimes, pausing will let the highlighted text get replaced, other times it requires the delete or backspace key.

Now this isn't the only area I experience text editing issues. After creating a key schedule for manual input, when filling in the cells allot of times it will take the first key input then move the cursor to the front. It does this instantly, causing something to be miss-spelled or numbered wrong. It also doesn't see to do this every time and doesn't depend on how slow or fast I type.

Is this something others have experienced? Is there a known fix? My software is up to day currently and it still persists.

I would use MS word or Notepad instead of Revit text editor. Copy whatever text in Revit into MS word or Notepad. Type it in and then copy the content back into Revit.

Flick (move) your cursor a bit then type.
