Hello. I want to create a template to show only existing phase. When I go to >Parameter>Phase Filter I don't see the option "Existing only"
How can we achieve this? Thanks

The View phase should be Existing and the View Phase Filter can be Show New, or Show Complete, or Show All.
New elements in the Existing Phase are existing. It's all relative.
@toadn
As always, thanks for your message!
Imagine we need "existing plans only" and all the elements I have added in the model are marked as Phase Existing.
Then in my template, which one should I have selected?
You can use ( dependeing on your phase filters, of course) :
- Phase: New, Phase Filter: Show All
- Phase: New, Phase Filter: Show Previous
- Phase: Existing, Phase Filter: Show New
- Phase: Existing, Phase Filter: Show Previous + New.
You may see how elements are displayed differently according to phase graphic overrides.
Here is an example. From top to bottom: Existing plan, Demolition Plan, New Plan. It also depends on your firm graphic standards.
In your particular case any combination will work because you said:
'all the elements I have added in the model are marked as Phase Existing.' ,
but for the clarity use Phase: Existing, Phase Filter: Show New.

Thanks for your email and file!
Curious, I draw a wall in phase existing but in the phase filter is not existing is NEW as you said...
Difficult to find a logic to this..
As I said, Existing and New are entirely relative. A wall built under Existing Phase is NEW to that Phase, but EXISTING to any Phases in the future.

Thanks for you reply, very thorough explanation but I have a question for you as per you said:
" filter that has 'by category' set for both the 'new' column and the 'existing' column. (As we dont want anything overridden with grey) 'Do not display' assigned to the remaining columns "
Understood but how do I control by category? does this mean it is as per the type shown in properties, what if I have different walls with different categories, how do I show them the same?
Thanks again, I am getting close to understand but it not an easy one!
@artejon I got you.
I have a more advanced question:
In your file, in theSheet A101, no3- level 1, the existing walls have a grey hatch same as in the No.1 both under the style of Phasing-Graphic overrides-Existing Cut.
How could I give the existing wall of no3- level 1 a different hatch colour from the one in the No.1?
Thanks
'By Category' basically means it will take on the category properties. ie: Visibility graphics or Project Object styles.
To understand it better, you may want to familiarise yourself with the top 10 priority of overrides...
So to be clear, even if you have a visibility graphic override for walls category, phasing will override this with the phasing 'graphic overrides' if 'Overridden' is part of the filter.
Could you explain what you mean by "what if I have different walls with different categories". What are you referring to when you say "categories"?
Thanks for your reply!
Basically in my office they represent differently existing walls in existing plans and existing walls in proposed plans.
I understood to override their cut pattern by filter I will need to research a little to do it by element (I presume you meant by category for this last one?)
Thanks
@Anonymous
Very grateful by your explanation.
I mean existing walls in existing plans need one hatch colour (I presume I can obtain this by override in phase filters)
but existing walls in proposed plans need another hatch colour
Thanks
