Tags With Leaders of Different Colors in Same View

Hi, all.

We have an equipment tag family with two types - a black one for new and a gray one for existing (we used "type" parameters to achieve this, though there are other ways).

The problem is, whenever we use leaders for those tags they are always a single color for all tags (usually black), regardless of whether the tag itself is gray or black, and I can't make them match the tag color itself.

Is there a way to accomplish this, where we can have multiple tags with different colored leaders - in the same view?

Thanks in advance,

Edgar

The only way I can think off is using something like Dynamo. You can have it search for a type of tag and override their color to whatever you want.

Use Override Graphics in View by Element or By Filter.

Can you apply view filters to annotation tags? I actually tried doing that but had no luck in Revit 2022

Select elements with tags and create group, then select the attached detail group and override color in view.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone.

One thing we are trying to avoid is to have any edits to be "by element", so we wouldn't quite go with the override by element option.

But the filter is really intriguing for sure and would definitely get the job done - @barthbradley, how did you get that filter to work? What filter category did you use?

Selection Set Filters.

You wouldn't need to override element by element either if you use the grouping approach.  In fact, it is quite easy to group elements via a schedule if they share a common value (which is why you color code the tags in the 1st place, isn't it?).

It's a SELECTION SET FILTER - not Rule-Based.  Select one Type and then Select All Instances of it in the View and look on the Contextual Tab. See the Selection Panel? Press Save and name the Filter.  Bada Bing!

@ToanDN, how exactly do you group tags? I tried selecting them all and grouping them, but Revit complained it can't be done (can't group tags). I don't know how to group "via schedule" either...

So far, @barthbradley's suggestion is the one closest to what I was looking for (thank you, sir!!): we can go and edit the tags afterwards and add/remove leaders and it all works well (and this without "editing the selection" per se), and the color is controlled by a filter, which is easily edited. The only drawback is that for new tags we need to edit the selection.

I think we need to add a suggestion to Autodesk to allow more control of the tag leaders, just like we can for the text leaders.

Select elements AND their tags and Create Group.  Revit will separate Tags to an Attached detail group.  The benefit of this is when you need to tag the model group in another view, simply select it and you can re-associate the Attached Detail group to it without having to re-tag.
