Tagging/Labeling Setback Lines.

I would like to tag lines or add text to lines, specifically setback lines to show the setback distance.

- I understand a simple dimension would work, however, I like the cleaner look of the text when it's aligned to the object.

Do i need to create a Line Based Detail item family or is there another way to get this done?

Please see image for reference.

Thank you all in advance for your help & guidance.

Create Line based generic model or detail family and use a nested generic annotation label reporting the actual offset distance instance parameter.

You must be doing Plot Plans on a production scale.  What's wrong with the approach you are using now?  Placing text over setback linework not fast and easy enough for you?

...btw, what's that 'solution'? Scratching my head here. Seriously. Looks like a line that thinks it's a dimension.  That's faster and easier that an in-built Dim Type?

Mostly work with Kitchen & Bath remodel but have branched into ADU design.
Was using AutoCAD for all plans but now that I am working more with structural & civil engineers, I have made the switch to Revit.
Just looking for ways to streamline my process as switching from 2d to modeling is a bit of a jump.
Have been using text over the setback lines but aligning the text to angles takes time.
- If a family is used, the text is aligned every time and I can just change the suffix.
Please advise what you mean as an in-built Dim Type.
Any suggestions on how to make this simple 2d annotation faster will always be welcome.
