Hello,
I'm currently working in a project with an interesting goal; no paper drawings allowed.
We're trying to solve information handling such as free text, since the contractors will only have access to 3d-models. (Final backup plan if we can't get it working will be pdf drawings.)
Is there a way to tag and free text components with 3d-lettering that's visible when exporting to .IFC? Ideally a two-part component; a small text flag or marker always visible, and the textbox able to toggle between hidden/visible.
This surely has to be the epitome of BIM ![]()
Other work arounds would be adding comments in the components i guess, but it's a hassle for design engineers and wouldn't be optimal for contractors. The type of information will mostly be build orders which isn't really applicable to individual parts and/or components.
