the spheres (RED) and the box (GREEN) are generic models I attached to an existing structure. I wanted to know how to tag these as they are many. What I wanted to show on the drawings is just numbering like 1, 2, 3 for each family type. the aim is for the location to be read using the numbers eventhough they are alike.
Kind regards,
Josh

1) create a shared parameter that applies to Numbering
2) create a generic annotation tag and use the shared parameter in the label of the tag
be sure that the tag and the family share the same category and the shared parameter
@kadmonkee Thank you for your reply!
Hi @Anonymous
Welcome to the Autodesk community!![]()
In order for information in a parameter to be used in a tag, it must be a shared parameter.
Here are a few links:
1.For information on how to create Shared Parameter Files, Groups, and Parameters, click HERE
2.Then associate a label with a parameter. You can create a generic annotation family or load one from the available annotation families in the Revit library.
3.When a tag is created, labels are added to display the value of desired element parameters. These labels display the values for the object’s corresponding parameters after the tag is loaded and placed in the project.More information on tag labels HERE

This is waaaay easier than suggestions & takes around 1 minute
Note I'm in Revit 2020 but the solution may also apply to other versions
Open door tag family --> click 'Family Category & Parameters' --> change to Generic Model
Will give you mark and type mark (whatever door tag you opened has) but easy to change label in family
You are welcome & rock on
