Tag Text Colour (via the project)

I had a question in the office recently about room tags and text colour. 

The colour of text resides in the tag itself, so if you want tags with different colours, you have to create separate families, ah no thanks. 

So at the moment we are using element overrides, which I don't particularly like. The VG only changes the colour of lines, not the text itself. 

Any other ideas, tips or tricks I am missing?

Are the colors driven by any Room parameter?

Not at the moment. They won't need to really. The colour varies amongst views, not within the view for diff areas. It is actually area tags, my mistake, same diff though i guess.

If that is the case I would simply select all instances visible in View and override the color.  Maybe Save Selection for faster recall if you have multiple types.

Yeah, that is what we have been doing. But we have standard colours for different drawings, so I was hoping for something that could be set in Revit, via filters or the like so users don't have to reference a guide as such. Something that could be set in a view template would be best.

Maybe have to tackle this a different way. 

p.s. out of curiosity, where were you going with the parameter idea?
