Hey Everyone
I'm not sure how I achieved this feat and I am definitely not sure how to fix it. 2022 Revit.
The process I am used to is:
Place a family
Tag a family
Move the family without selecting the tag, the tag follows the family keeping its location in relation to the family.
What is actually happening right now:
Place a family
Tag a family
Move the family without selecting the tag, the tag acts as though it is pinned.
Move the family again without selecting the tag, the tag follows the family keeping its location in relation to the family.
I have restarted. I have had other people try this with the same families. I have tested this in multiple projects with multiple families. I have tested it in 2020 Revit on the same device and it works as expected. Another way to look at it is, the tag will stay with the family if the family is changed in some way. So I can place the family, tag the family, change a parameter in the family, then move the family and it works correctly. But this is a pain in the bottom when I know there is a specific way this normally functions.
Thoughts?

Sounds like a bug. Does the family you are tagging contain nested families? If you edit the family file (RFA) in 2022 and reload into a new project, does it still have the same behavior?
I see the same behavior in my Revit 2022. Select all tags, cut and paste align in place seems to fix it. I know you shouldn't have to do that.
Interesting...I could not recreate the problem, but I was testing with a tag I placed in 2022. Were your tags originally placed in an earlier version? Good workaround though!

Fresh tags placed in Revit 2022.

Same here.
Possible root cause may be the new Multi-Leader Tag functionality. Maybe Autodesk thought we wouldn't notice or that it was a fair trade-off.
Its a bug with Single tagging in 2022...lots of ways to work around it
Alternatively if it bothers you so much, USE TAG ALL...this one works fine
OTHER than the copy/paste from clipboard Toan mentioned the following Workarounds should easily fix single category tags :

As an overall update... this happens in both 2022.0.0 and 2022.0.1. This is occurring when using the Tag or Multi-Category Tag commands, not with other forms of tagging as far as I can tell.
I appreciate the clips provided by some users showing the bug in more detail:
This is a program issue, not a project or family issue. This is happening to 3 people I work with and several others on this post, it is not isolated.
Not sure how to ask this, would it be possible for a developer to confirm if this is WAI or not? It is definitely not how it worked in 2020 and earlier.
Thank you for all of the replies about how to work around the problem I am definitely aware of how to "make it work" now. From this point on in the post can we please focus on why it is happening and if it will be fixed or WAI. I am concerned about the efficiency of my workflow to the point where I posted about this so my primary concern is not having to "make it work" in the long term. Maybe there is a different forum to post a bug I am not aware of?
One of the replies above suggests a potential cause of the problem:
"Possible root cause may be the new Multi-Leader Tag functionality. Maybe Autodesk thought we wouldn't notice or that it was a fair trade-off."
Thanks,

File in a support ticket and report the bug...otherwise you can cross your fingers and hope for luck that someone from Autodesk comes across this post and passes it on to the development team. (however; I'm pretty sure that others have already reported it through the proper channels)
