Tab to temporary angle dimension?

I had a user ask how to get to the angle dimension when trying to move or copy at a certain angle and distance.  I wasn't able to find a solution, so I was hoping someone here could help.

Thank you for the help.

You can't.  It moves as you move the cursor and object.  Tab doesn't work.  This is more dynamic.

I just draw a ref plane or line at the angle I want and copy the element along it.

Hello @Jason_S

Please put this on our Revit Idea Station ... maybe it will be valuable for other user to consider it as potential improvement.

So you get the temporary dimension angle displaying, if you zoom close enough, you can get increments as small as 1.00° degree by default. If you really wanted finer control than that,  edit the Snap settings, remove 1.00° and add 0.10° increments. Once you have the angle you want, then you can type the distance and it will move that distance on that angle.
p.s.  I suggested removing the 1.00° value because otherwise you will be forced to be zoomed in quite a bit to get those smaller decimal degree increments. I probably wouldn't recommend it as it may not be desirable for the rare times you need decimal degree values, to sacrifice the ease of assigning 1.00° increments.

damo3,

I understand that, been doing that for years.  My issue is why can't we select it?  It shows. I can give a distance without even selecting the distance.  Why can't I hold the control key and select the angle?  How about once the command is active hit tab until the temporary dimension is highlighted.

I have seen more times than not, people zoom and get the angle needed. Go to type the distance and their hand moves or the mouse get tapped.  The angle is lost and the distance is typed and item moved before they notice. Now the undo and start over have to happen, or they draw a bunch of construction lines to get things readjusted.  Just doesn't seem productive, and these dimensions are given to us so why can't we select them?

Wouldn't you like the ability to select the angle and type in 32.2°?  Then give the distance?  Admit it, you would like that. Smiley (fröhlich)

Thanks
