System Family Sheet Transfer

Hi,

I have an older project that is missing some property fields in the System Family Sheet file, and as such is limiting functionality with imported titleblocks (label parameters are greyed out / missing entirely). Is there a way to transfer the system family sheet file from another project to ensure the parameters are correct? Global parameters, shared parameters and transfer project standards all seem to not work.

Thanks in advance, Matt.

Not sure if this will do what you want but you could try it,

if you right click on a Sheet in the Project browser you can Save to New File

revit save sheet.png

Then in the other Project use Insert Tab > Insert from File > Insert View from file

Browse for that file you jus saved

RVT insert view.png

Sounds like Shared Parameters issue. In other words, the Titleblock Labels are using different Shared Parameters  than the Sheet is using. They may be the exact same name, but they are not  the exact same GUID.   If so, the remedy is to correct the "mismatch".  Export the Shared Parameters to your Shared Parameter Text file and use exact same Share Parameters for the Titleblock Labels and Sheet Properties.

That's my guess.

Can you post the RVT?  With that, we wouldn't have to guess.

It sounds like you have just copied a titleblock over to your project that has several shared parameters in it but they are not mapped to project parameters assigned to the sheets category.

An easy way to bring the mapped project parameters over from the project that works is to create a sheet list schedule that has all the parameters in it that you want to bring over (the ones not working).

Place it on a sheet in your project that works, then do a copy/paste to your new project.

This should bring all your project parameters mapped to the correct shared parameters into your new file.

You can also use the "transfer Project Standards" under the manage tab and select Project Parameters if you want to bring over all the project parameters over from the other project (including ones not associated to sheets).
