Okay, I have a good one here. I have a family with nested casework that has symbolic lines to designate cabinet openings. For some reason, the symbolic lines are showing up on both the front and back views. The view is set to Hidden Line and Draw in Foreground is checked:
Front: Back:
I have tried to make a masking region that is attached to the back plane of the cabinet, but it hasn't worked. I may be using it wrong though.
Now, my second problem is that these symbolic lines also show up in my interior elevation views in the full model, even though they are behind the actual view area of the elevation (3d view provided so it is easier to see what is supposed to be under the sink, i.e. nothing):
Thoughts?

Host a Masking Region on Ref. Plane behind the lines by unchecking Draw in Foreground .
Explanation of process here:
Make sure the Masking Region's "Work Plane" is correct.
...and the Project View not set to Wireframe by accident. It happens.
AH! I know what talking about now! Masking Region won't help. Can't you leave the Door Geometry Visible in the Elevation View?
@ToanDN do you mean unchecking the Foreground checkbox? I have tried it both ways, and it still shows the same.
@barthbradley THe hidden line vs wireframe was the first thing I checked
It actually was wrong at first in the family, so I changed it and that fixed the weird projection onto the other side in the family. It however did not fix the issue with the lines being on both sides of the casement nested family. I hope that makes sense.
The far clip is fine, the symbolic lines are actually from behind the whole elevation. See the new photo, I circled whee the symbolic lineas are projecting from.
Wait a minute! Are you saying the lines are being projected from an element behind the cut plane? Sounds like the "old Hidden Line Trick". Open the family, go to Plan View and see if their is a Line drawn from the Element outward and away from the Element. This line may be intersecting with the Cut Plane in the Project.
This article describes what I'm referring to when I say "Old Model Line Trick":

Okay, I see it's one Family. What I said wouldn't apply in this case.
Post the Family.
Try replacing the Symbolic Lines with Model Lines drawn on the face of the cabinet doors.
Here is the family that we are working with. They are cabinet families nested into the larger family. We have some other families like this so I'm trying to not have to change too many of them individually. Also, we are having an issue with tagging the cabinets in this family if you all want to tackle that as well ![]()
I would do it exactly like the stock Revit Base Cabinets are done. Have you looked at those?

This worked for the lines! So what does it mean by having them "Shared"?
Revit treats shared families nested in an assembly family as if they were inserted directly in the project and not some dead pieces in the assembly family, and that so they respect the cut of the elevation. You can also tag and schedule them in the project.
