So I am building some custom casework as a generic model in the family editor. I can get the symbolic lines to show up as dashed over the doors, but when I load it into my project, the symbolic lines become solid. I've checked my visibility settings under the 'generic models' category and changed symbolic lines to dashed there, but they still show as solid. I'm sure it's a project setting that is creating the problem, I just can't find it. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Are you sure the "solid" lines are not overlapping lines? Perhaps the symbolic lines are overlapping the model geometry line work. Know what I mean? Turn off the visibility of the model geometry in the view (through VG for Course, Medium and Fine display) and see if that corrects. Or, did you already do this?
I've completely rebuilt the family and had no change, and tried changing the detail level in VG like you suggested and had no change too. I did add another family element with symbolic lines and those lines did show up correctly. It almost seemed to be an issue with the dash lines being too large to appear as dashes. I've never heard of this as a problem, do you have any suggestions?
symbolic lines are annotation, so they change "size" with a change in scale. If the line is smaller than the dash-pattern length Revit draws a solid line.
(see pictures in my post here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/problems-with-a-split-section/m-p/7751213#M1... )
To test if this is the issue, change the scale of the view to a smaller scale ( e.g. 1:500 --> 1:100 )
Changing the scale worked and made the lines uniform between where I was having problems and where I wasn't having problems, thank you!
